8 Billion People Burning – dramaturgical research
8lidí (Czech republic)
- Saturday Oct 12 / 18:00, Hybernská 2
Four, eight… eight billion, or even more? What’s our planet’s capacity? The group 8lidí (8People) will explore the vastness of our interconnectedness in this two-day performance and research event, a prelude to our upcoming production, “8 Billion People Burning.”
Gather around our campfire – we’ll cook goulash, roast marshmallows, and contemplate the countless fires burning across the globe. Do you have a vivid memory tied to fire? Do you fear it, or the possibility of burnout? Does the thought of our planet ablaze frighten you? Perhaps you’re simply afraid of burning your toast.
Cast your fears aside and join us! Warm yourself by the fire and contribute to the creative process behind our production.
The event culminates on Saturday at 18:00, when we invite you to a special fireside chat exploring the diverse roles of fire in origin myths from around the world. Ethnologist Petr Janeček will lead the storytelling, while you enjoy roasted apples and potatoes.
