This year’s accompanying programs will actively involve senior citizens as well. During the festival, we are organizing art workshops for older people who are interested in contemporary art or are looking to learn new artistic skills or techniques. The program was designed by artist Eva Jiřička, who has a long history of working with senior citizens at the Elpida cultural and educational center.
“Nobody Ever Has Anything” is a famous 1931 song by Jiří Voskovec and Jan Werich. The song’s lyrics perfectly illustrate the times we live in, and we will work with them in our art workshops for seniors. In three workshops, we will explore the black-and-white techniques of ink, charcoal, and watercolor while learning about the proportions of the human body and text illustrations.
