FOUR CITIES IN MOTION The international cultural project “Four Cities in Motion” is realized by 4 EU and Visegrad countries. The applicant Čtyři dny (CZ) and the co-organizers Stanica Zilina (SK), KÉK - Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre (HU) and Kulczyk Foundation (PL) are organizations whose aim is to promote innovative art through different cultural exchange and activities. In the period from October 2007 till May 2008 the series of artistic interventions will come into existence in 5 central European cities (Bratislava, Budapest, Poznan, Zilina, Praha), which include artistic and educational activities (theatre, dance, and musical performances, site-specific projects – artistic piece created for specific/unique space, lectures, seminars, workshops, and exhibitions), which main theme is “contemporary trends in performing arts in the Visegrad space”. Project will use the different cultural-political experiences of our partners from Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia and is purposely situated to the international artistic centres, which were established in the places with industrial history (train station in Zilina, former brewery in Poznan, former glasswork factory in Budapest). Project will also use for the artistic presentation the non-traditional spaces in the historical and industrial environment in Bratislava and Prague. The aim is to create the widest possible platform for processing the chosen locality and formulating the questions such as “What influences our identity? How the culture and society in the Central Europe influences us?” Simultaneously the artists have the possibility to present artistic diversity, variety, and originality in the environment, which after decades of isolation has the chance to get back to the world scenes in all genders of live art.
