| VELMA /CH „Velma Superstar“ Almost fifty performers will appear on stage during the new project by Swiss musicians Velma. The project is an experiment that creates moments of grandeur and success: an attempt at tasting fame – but only for one night. The project is definitely not an analysis of the world of celebrities and the entertainment industry; it is not about anything that perhaps would take a moral stand. Members of the company reveal their secret fantasies: perhaps a child wanting to become president or an astronaut in outer space. One must take this naiveté seriously – no one knows what may happen!
Velma began in 1996 when three musicians
Christian Garcie, Christoph Jaquet and Stéphan Vécciotene
met to create a kind of music that no one had ever heard
before – a music that could not be found on any CD: electronic
pop integrating with standard acoustic instruments like
the guitar, drums and even the voice. In addition to this,
they tried to transform the traditional code of musical
presentation and concerts, so they teamed up with visual
artist and performer Olivier Marrietti who creates stage
and light designs, using elements of film, during the musical
performances. Velma´s production of Rondo
was one of the hit performances of the 4+4 Days in Motion
