| Thomas Lehmen /D „Lehmen lernt“ Berlin-based performer Thomas Lehmen was one of the highlights of the 2006 dance platform in Germany, where he conducted a survey about human ability and the need to learn in his choreographic work. His solo stage structure records the skills that a human adopts by the individual trends in his own natural journey. With particular attention to detail, using his own ingenious sense of rhythm and other methods, Lehmen organizes effortless ways in which he convincingly portrays the growing needs, ambitions, in short the human desire to know everything.
Lehmen claims that “to select” means “to learn.” What we choose is up to us. And Thomas Lehmen will learn from us.
Choreographer, dancer and teacher Thomas Lehman graduated from the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam. Today he has a strong presence in the dance scene in Berlin. His work characterizes a conceptual and philosophical point of departure, a cross-section of dance, theatre, media and a strong stage presence.
