Jiří Adámek /CZ „Tics tics politics (vocal extempore)“
Czech Premiere
The concealed mechanism of politics, valid all over the world and located under all types of circumstances. We find what is hidden beneath its outward appearance. Rage and helplessness. Laughter and tears. Gastric ulcers. The lust for power. Indigestion. A cry for help. The desire for success. Tears and laughter. Winning and losing.
A sound composition mixing word play, nonsense, voicebands, spoken text and song.
A unique genre somewhere between music and theatre, arising from the principles of spoken poetry, made famous by the famous Austrian post-War poet Ernst Jandl. Jandl explored the use of sounds, syllables, and broken words. He combined word play with a gradually detected meaning. The second source is the so-called „musical theatre“ – a stage form directed by a musical composer. Here the actors’ interpretation emerges from their voice and their musical abilities (French composer Georges Aperghis).
Script and
direction: Jiří Adámek
The performance originated as a co production of Motus, o.s., Alfred in the Courtyard
