Community Projects: Threat or assistance to public administration?

Discussion
  • Tuesday Oct 9 / 18:00–19:30 , Desfours Palace

Are community projects important? Are they beneficial to towns and cities? Do politicians and officials complicate them or, conversely, do they help them along? What are the common preconceptions associated with the representatives of the individual “roles”? These are only some of the questions addressed over the long-term by the project PROCESSES OF PROGRESS in Community Development and the Transformation of Public Space, whose participants include politicians and local government officials from across the Czech Republic and Slovakia, active citizens, representatives from the non-profit sector, and other experts. Their objective is to simplify the administrative burden associated with community modifications of public space and to improve cooperation between towns and local communities.

This evening meeting offers you the opportunity to participate in a discussion with progressive-thinking local government officials and representatives from non-profit organizations about why community projects should be implemented and how they should be realized in order to be beneficial to all sides and to ensure that no energy is needlessly lost due to mutual misunderstandings.

Organized by Pěstuj prostor (Foster the City registered association) and International festival of contemporary art 4+4 Days in Motion with the support of Ministry of Culture Czech Republic and Via Foundation.
