A walking tour with VI PER Gallery
The courtyards of Karlín (Vítkova Street)
- Thursday Oct 12 / 17:00, Karlín Barracks
This year, 4+4 Days in Motion has taken over the Karlín Barracks, which take up more than half of an entire city block in Prague’s Karlín neighborhood. In so doing, the festival has managed something quite unique, especially since the barracks’ inner courtyard – which is first being opened to the public as part of the festival – has remained in its original, unbuilt-on state.
The tour is organized by VI PER Gallery, located on Karlín’s Vítkova Street. The gallery’s program focuses on architecture and its relationship to contemporary art, urbanism, design, the media, and technology, as well as political, legal, social, economic and environmental contexts. With this comprehensive outlook, the gallery consciously explores architecture’s relationship to broader social issues. The courtyard tour is one part of these activities.
Please join us on a tour of discovery through the hidden corners of Karlín: peer behind closed gates and explore other unfamiliar areas along Vítkova Street. This is a unique opportunity that won’t be repeated anytime soon. The tour is led by VI PER Gallery’s curator Barbora Špičáková.
