A trap of social contrast may not play out as often right here in Vinohrady (Praha 10), but elsewhere. At public transport hubs, at train stations and transfer points, where this text originally emerged. Those who don’t fit in are increasing, and many of those who do aren’t doing any better. The text on the flag doesn’t ask about causes or look for solutions. It simply states things as they are, and in doing so invites attention. Who is the city?
Markéta Kinterová – an artist, lecturer, and artistic director working in the field of photography and contemporary visual culture. In her research-driven practice, she critically engages with public space through publications, exhibitions, and performative interventions. Since 2016, she has led the Studio of Documentary Strategies at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). She is the editor-in-chief of Fotograf Magazine and the artistic director of Fotograf Zone, a platform encompassing a gallery, festival, and publishing activities.
