Impossible Horizons

An international ensemble of dancers from Prague, Dresden, and Berlin invites audiences on a journey through the Háje housing estate, where familiar surroundings open up to fresh perspectives. Expect a site-specific dance performance in public space as five performers move between streets, buildings, rooftops, and courtyards, entering into a dialogue with the city. Dance becomes an opportunity to step away from established vantage points and view the surrounding environment with new eyes. The choreography also draws on material gathered during interviews with local residents about their living experiences. The city transforms into a stage set where windows, walls, and facades lend their voices, giving familiar places whole new meanings. A German-Czech co-production by situation productions.

Situation productions

The Dresden-based dance company situation productions, under the artistic direction of Anna Till, creates original projects at the intersection of contemporary dance, performance, and installation. Their work is defined by an interest in weaving together past and present, interdisciplinary collaboration, and experimentation. Humor, sensuality, and a poetic lens on the world around us play a crucial role. Recent projects include SWAN LAKE IN SNEAKERS (2023), a performance for young audiences; CIRCLING (2023), a piece for five dancers and a live band; and EYES OPEN, EYES CLOSED (2025), a dance performance on aging.

Anna Till

Anna Till studied Dance, Context, Choreography at the Inter-University Centre for Dance in Berlin and Applied Cultural Studies at Leuphana University Lüneburg. Based in Dresden, she works as a choreographer and dancer, creating original projects centered on international exchange, cross-disciplinary overlaps, and contemporary approaches to dance-making and its history. She has served as artistic director of situation productions since 2017. In 2021, she co-founded the creative tandem TILL&LUBICH alongside Barbara Lubich. Her collaborative credits include work with Christina Ciupke (undo, redo & repeat), Antje Pfundtner in Gesellschaft (ENDE, Alles auf Anfang), Fabrice Mazliah, and guts company. Beyond her artistic practice, she regularly moderates discussions, facilitates international exchange initiatives, and leads educational programs in contemporary dance.
