The Prized Artist
The 2011 Awards Ceremony
This award is a gesture of recognition and respect directed at older artists. The finalists for this award (artists over the age of 35) are nominated by more than 300 theorists and artists across the Czech Republic who at the time of voting were aged 35 or under. Each year the award-winner is selected by a five-member jury that visits all the finalists in the autumn months. Following Jiří Kovanda, Vladimír Skrepl, Adriena Šimotová, the 2010 winner is the art duo Martin Polák and Lukáš Jasanský.
The programme for the evening ceremony: announcing the results of the poll for best independent and group exhibition and the best work of the past year, introduction to the jury and the finalists, a film screening, a concert performed by the group of award-winners and finalists – FINSKÝ BAROK.
