In order to survive the future, we will need a clear manual for how to exist within the system. The oil party is over, but we are all acting as if the fun had just begun. The certainty of this non-sustainable state is for certain. The energy of the present day drives us forward, but our intuition continues to send out signals, to initiate the search for our own essential path, in an attempt at saving that which is simple and original.
Are we beginning to clearly see the need to change the future, or does life around us look like nothing is changing? How to live so that those who come after us will still be able to enjoy what we have left them? And what will we find at the end of our own personal story?
These ideas occur to us – if only because we are in the second half of life. Or is something really happening? Now we know that we do not have that much time.
Serious doubts about the usefulness of art are mixed with a persistent need to make art. The factory of art and all its subsidiary studios are constantly churning out new and new products. Individual artists continue to exert amazing manic energies in an attempt at reflecting the time in which they live. They create parodies of reality and approach it provocatively. The result is a fervent sampling and assessment of being, and its subsequent manifestation within various artistic forms.
The works of art presented in One Day You Will Lose It All are a testament to the fact that someone is still vigilantly holding up mirror to reality. We do not know how it will all end, and so we ask. We are currently doing nothing other than intuitively selecting those works that, in various ways, reflect the current state of reality – the state of our oil party. As for what comes next, we will have to wait and see.

Erik Olofsen – Public Figures >
Video installation Public Figures was shot from a moving metro car while entering the station, using a digital high-speed camera. The result is an endless shot of people on a subway platform passing by in slow motion. The tranquil movement of the camera and stillness of the people portrayed, give room for a hypnotic chain of thoughts and associations.
The original glass display cases of the former Krásná jizba (Beautiful Home) outlet in the ÚLUV building contain an exhibition by two alternative exhibition spaces. These galleries are "peripheral" not only because they are not located in Prague, but also because they exist on the edge their cities and on the edge of public interest, though each has its own specific genius loci.
GRAFFOMAT is entering the market with a new state of the art graffiti supply vending machine! Forget about the times where you would run out of paint in the middle of the night and there would be nothing you could do about it. Graffomat is here for you 24 hours a day, located in the passage Krásná jizba.
