Do You Have a Knack for Art? A portrait of a building
Daily / , Desfours Palace
// from Monday 5th to Friday 9th
As part of the 4 Days in Motion accompanying program, students of primary and secondary schools can, during the morning hours, visit exhibitions of contemporary Czech art on three stories of a historical palace in downtown Prague.
The accompanying program combines the theme of this year’s “Do You Have a Knack for Art?” context – a comparison of portraits and self-portraits – with a guided tour of the exhibited works and pieces of history preserved in the building.
The Desfours Palace in downtown Prague has long stood empty, but has preserved its unique atmosphere and, most importantly, interesting visual quality. Students can look forwards not only to a tour of the exhibited works, but will also see parts of the building usually off-limits to the public. As a result, they will get an intimate look at the entire building, on the basis of which they will create its “portrait”. The point is not just to depict its physical likeness, but to capture the building’s essence and extraordinary distinctiveness.
The organizers offer a 60- or 90-minute program for groups of students and teachers from Monday 5 Oct. to Friday 9 Oct. 2015 between 9am and 1pm. Reservations at firstname.lastname@example.org
The program is organized by Ondřej Horák and Jiří Raiterman, organizers of the 7th annual “Do You Have a Knack for Art?” contest.
We are looking forward to seeing you.
