Solos for Galaxi
-
Sep 19 Friday / 18:30 / 18:50 / 19:30, Galaxie
/ As part of the opening of the exhibitions Sídliště and Planeta Hlava.
This project was specially created for the 4 + 4 Days in Motion festival, which for 30 years has explored themes of transformation, continuity, and fresh interpretations of art forms. On September 19th, the festival will officially open “Galaxie”, a new cultural hub expected to bring a new lease of life to the former multiplex cinema in Háje.
Three Solos on Loss and Care
How does one breathe new dimension into what has already been? How is the new summoned from the imprint of the old? How can meaning shift while form endures? And what worlds might unfurl from a single source? For thirty years, the 4 + 4 Days in Motion festival has been circling these very questions. Now, in three dance solos from the Temporary Collective platform, its youngest voices—David Králík, Emma Fiala, and Natalie Tun—take them up anew. These three solos not only embody these questions, but they are also rooted in the conviction that by revisiting and reworking past material—or by creating from a single source, even through acts of recycling and upcycling—it is possible to rethink artistic methods and thus engage with sustainability on personal, professional, and ecological levels. David Králík, Emma Fiala, and Natalie Tun draw on movement material from Tereza Ondrová’s most recent solo, Last Dance, along with her defining dance quality: an acute attentiveness to detail and the eloquence of minimalist gesture. Their performance, SOLOS FOR GALAXIE, unfolds in direct dialogue with the original work, yet asserts itself as an autonomous artistic statement.
Temporary Collective is a creative duo consisting of dancer Tereza Ondrová and theater director Petra Tejnorová, who work with their team from various fields to create performances and encounters with audiences. Their artistic process is based on dialogue and on what currently provokes or disturbs them. Recently, they have been focusing on themes such as upcycling, loss as transformation, and geographical storytelling – while also seeking moments of subtle humor and human sincerity. TC is not based in a permanent space, a single theater, or a single location – on the contrary, its identity is shaped by the diversity of connections and places where theater and dance can take place. It likes different rhythms – some projects are long-term, and some are just short series of events.
