Sídliště (Housing Estate)
The exhibition Housing Estate unfolds as an intricate meditation on the phenomenon of the Czech pre-fabricated housing estates, tracing their myriad incarnations—from intimate childhood memories lived within concrete walls to contemporary artistic and architectural reflections. At its heart lies a central inquiry: how these monumental panel structures, known in Czech as paneláky, have shaped the lives of generations, what challenges they confront in the present moment, and how they now emerge as fertile ground for inspiration across disciplines of art and thought. A particular spotlight is cast upon South City, one of the most vast and emblematic housing complexes in the Czech Republic. This “city within a city” stands simultaneously as a symbol of anonymity and as a place marked by its own history, social pulse, and austere aesthetic resonance.
Planet Head
The human head: the only “planet” that contains a whole universe within it. Step into a terrain where the language of the face unfolds as a landscape—an atlas of self and other.
Krištof Kintera: How Can I Help You?
In his site-specific installation, How Can I Help You?, Kintera extends his sustained inquiry into the poetics of terminology, turning his gaze toward the precarious cartography of human affect, need, and psychic condition. Conceived as a monumental bar composed of more than three thousand glass vessels—each inscribed with the name of a distinct feeling, mood, desire, or impulse—the installation materializes as a spatially choreographed inventory of the human psyche, while simultaneously offering itself as a mapping of the collective emotional landscape of our present moment.
Unique Sacred Cultivation Cooperative: Cash Desk
Installation for the Galaxie Cultural Station, 2025
The artistic collective Unique Sacred Cultivation Cooperative (CZ: Jedinečné svatopěstitelské družstvo) has conceived a visual design for the cash desk at Galaxie, transforming it into a portal to the analog age of cinema. The installation evokes the era of videotapes and video rental stores, wistfully reflecting on the vanished world of communal film experiences in the wake of the rise of home entertainment. About
For 30 years, the international festival of contemporary art 4 + 4 Days in Motion has been a playground for the unexpected—exploring daring new forms of theatre, dance, and visual art, while breathing life into Prague’s forgotten spaces. This year, the festival finds a new home at the recently opened Galaxie Cultural Station (Kulturní stanice Galaxie) in Prague’s Háje district, where, from September 20 through the end of the year, it will transform the venue with exhibitions, premieres, conferences, and an array of accompanying programs.
