What has been successfully improved and what has been irretrievably destroyed? The most positive change can be seen in Prague’s Jižní Město, which has been transformed from a problematic area into a city. However, many smaller valuable complexes from previous eras have been demolished or degraded throughout the country. Why does the non-housing estate public perceive garish colors worse than gray? Examples and approaches will be presented by the author of the housing estate regeneration methodology from the Central Bohemian branch of the National Heritage Institute. Aerial photographs were provided by Jirka Jiroušek.
